Belly Achin'
January 18th, 2010
I sometimes give my stomach foods that it doesn’t like. For example, I didn’t know what to eat last night, but I knew I wanted pineapple Chobani (obsession?), so I added a ton of fruit to it.
Well needless to say, my gut was a little less than perky this morning, especially after my coffee. Actually I think it’s fair to say that it was mad.
Even though I waited until late afternoon to go for my run, I still felt sick. I didn’t need to stop my run, but I definitely had some pains. I’ve always had a sensitive stomach, but my stomach seems to be the biggest hindrance to my running (well, besides the stress fracture….).
So question for you runners: after eating less than appropriate food, what do you do to make it through your runs? Do you just skip it and do it later? Or do you take pepto and push through it? I would appreciate any tips you might have!
Just wondering!
Despite the belly ache, my numbers are looking better. That makes me hopeful!
Distance: 4.04 miles
Time: 40:50
Mile 1: 9:59
Mile 2: 10:21
Mile 3: 10:41
Mile 4: 9:31
0.04: 0:17
And of course, for dinner I had a great meal for an already tender stomach: mexican casserole that consisted of a lot of beans and taco sauce. Yea, I’m a smart one. (But it tasted GREAT! I’m thinking of trying a Recipe page again!)
PS I did some other belly achin’ on Twitter today about not being able to sync my Forerunner to Dailymile–and they responded to let me know that they are working on it and the feature will be available NEXT MONTH! ::FIST PUMP::
