Runtober Check-In

Well, so far this week of Runtober is a disappointment.

Part of it is the weather. It has been very cold and rainy all week…that does not make me want to run.

The other part is laziness. Which is partially justified by all of the traveling I have been doing. Maybe October wasn’t the best month to propose this little challenge to myself…

But I’ve recognized that and I promise that I’m still trying to get little runs in when I can.

Now let’s look at last week’s running stats:

Sunday: 6.2 miles (Great Race) @ 8:51 pace
Monday: Cross train…Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones with my friend + 1 mile cool down
Tuesday: 4 miles @ 9:04 pace
Wednesday: 4 miles @ 8:51 pace
Thursday: 4 miles (no Garmin this time)
Friday: Rest
Saturday: 8 miles @ ~9:30 pace

Total Mileage: 27.2 miles

A bit shy of my 30 miles, and I am also shy of on “medium sized” run. I’m ok with that… it’s probably going to be better than this week of Runtober! RAIN, RAIN, GO AWAY!

I have to remind myself that I can’t do any better than trying my best. Perfection is simply not a possibility.

That’s ok, because then this blog would be really boring. ;)

But really, even if I need meet all of my proposed goals, I’m sure that I would find something that I’m unhappy with and that I want to improve. That mindset is both a blessing and curse.

Well, I just got home after a long day of travel. My initial plan was to run a few miles, but it’s raining and I’m pooped.  I’d rather store some energy and make the runs that I WILL run this week quality ones!
