New Year’s Party
January 2nd, 2011
My parents and my little brother came up yesterday for New Year’s day. It’s becoming a tradition for them to make the jaunt up to Pittsburgh and I make a pork and sauerkraut dinner. Aren’t I a nice daughter? Although my little brother sent a not-so-subtle sign that my meal was lacking a little flavor.
Ok, it was actually the fault of our sea salt grinder. But still, it was pretty funny…despite the huge mess.
Another thing that was funny? My little brother’s dog, Amos, took up residence in our (newly painted) fireplace.
And here’s a picture of Dexter looking a little distraught. Probably because the Pens lost to the Caps in the Winter Classic.
I know that I am sad. I don’t know what happened but I’m now an official Pens fan. I always liked them, but I think that with the HBO mini series 24/7 I now consider myself a bonafide fan.
It’s funny too because I have apparently been absorbing the 2.5 years of Pittsburgh Penguin highlights, statistics, and trivia and so I feel like I can actually follow what’s going on and carry on a conversation. But only with Dave…because I still say stupid things.
And I get giddy over Sid and Geno.
