Yinz love a challenge, don’t yinz?!
A few of your asked about the rules, but as I said last night and the night before, my only guideline is to avoid junk. I’ll be more specific for those of you who hate shades of gray.
This is what avoiding junk means FOR ME:
1) Avoid processed sugar
2) Avoid added sugar
3) Nix the desserts except on rare occasions (perhaps once a week—Valentine’s day chocolates, perhaps?)
4) Satisfy sweet tooth cravings using whole, natural foods
Now, those are my guidelines, feel free to take them for your own or create ones that are more personal. Example: potato chips maybe your “junk”, add “avoid salty, greasy snacks” to your list.
So far, dates have become my BFF. I want to date dates.
The first “check-in” point is going to be next weekend. At that point I will be taking a look to see what I’m doing, how it’s affecting me, and other areas that I can improve. You’re all welcome to chime in, too!
Also, since my struggle is with sweet snacks, I’m asking any and all of you to submit your whole, natural and healthful snack solutions! There are lots of you looking to address the same issue, so if you can PLEASE email me your favorite healthy snack, I will post them here for others to enjoy! Or if you have a website with a recipe to share and just want me to post the link, I’ll do that too!
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
In unrelated news: this morning I really overslept. I usually get out of bed at 6:25 and leave the house by 7:25. This morning I didn’t wake up until 6:57!!! I am happy to say that I still left the house at 7:25—and I did EVERYTHING in my normal routine: shower, makeup, hair, dressed, packed running stuff, threw a lunch together, made my tea and breakfast.
Dave helped a little with breakfast and steaming my clothes, but still…isn’t that impressive?!
I think I have a new morning routine! I call it HYPERSPEED!
I should add that my hair looked like poo. Well, it usually does, just a little more poo-like today.
There are worse things in life. Like the Pen’s decimated line-up.
And speaking of the Pens…it’s hockey night in Pittsbuuuuurgh!
Let’s go Pens!
