I Need a Wand

I wish food never went bad so that I could buy certain things in obscene amounts and not have to make annoying trips to the grocery store to pick up just a thing or two.

That’s what I was thinking tonight as I made myself my beloved fried egg sandwich—another delicious way to eat copious amounts of ketchup.

Anyhow, it just seems like there are certain foods that Dave and I can’t keep in the kitchen. You buy something that you love and the next minute, it’s gone. Life is not fair!

Here’s my list of disappearing foods:

  • Bananas
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Health nut bread
  • Lettuce
  • Chickpeas
  • PB Puffins

Just looking at this list makes me sad. It’s frustrating because I can never get them all at once. I’ll go to the store for bananas, and then two days later, after a hummus binge, I’m out of chickpeas and need to go again.

It’s a sick cycle. :(

It’s one of those moments when I wish that I went to Hogwarts so that I could learn how to magic these into my kitchen.

I know, you’re thinking, “You mean you wish that the wizarding world exists at all.”

My answer? It does exist, you narrow minded muggles.

Soooo… does anyone have any suggestions? Or a wand?

What foods do you have trouble keeping stocked in your kitchen?

Best Idea Ever

Ketchup as salad dressing. Can’t believe it took me this long to figure it out.

Happy 24th birthday to my very best friend!

dave

I am so blessed to have someone who “gets” me…even when others don’t.

Who knows where my title came from??

Don’t count your tickets before they’re in your hands.

Well, yinz guessed correctly!

…sort of.

Our friend got us tickets to tonight’s Pens/Flyers game, but due to unforeseen events, the tickets ended up getting stuck in Hollidaysburg with him.

Which means I’m stuck on my couch.

Bummer.

Regardless, it’s still a good game! They are currently battling for top spot in the Eastern conference. If the Pens win in regulation, they tie the Flyers for the lead! Which is really amazing in light of all the injuries the Pens have suffered.

Ok, sorry. I know most of you don’t care!!! Let’s talk about food, shall we?

Someone has a birthday this week…which means birthday food!

I used my free time today to make these cupcakes for the birthday boy.

And at Dave’s office, the birthday boy (or girl) always brings in food to celebrate. I offered to make more cupcakes, but no..Mr. Birthday wanted soft pretzels.

I told him he was on his own for that one.

He’s a natural in the kitchen. I think he should cook every meal…once he learns more than just spaghetti and cereal.

Well, and soft pretzels, too.

Because now he can make those as well. But after three batches of them, I doubt he’ll be wanting to make them any time soon.

Well, I’m out! It’s 1 to 1 at the end of the first! Let’s go Pens!

Oh, also, I went for a short run in my Vibram FiveFingers this afternoon because I felt that my form has been suffering (thus the shin splints). Best way to fix that? Get back to Bare!

G’night, friends!!

What is your favorite treat on your birthday?

Mine is Dairy Queen’s ice cream cake. Ohhhh, I love that stuff!
