Springing Forward

…or just planting my butt on the couch.
The time change hit me hard! I think I’ll be running marathons in the fall to gain an hour of sleep, because heaven knows I hate to part with my precious sleep. I did manage 3 miles, which kind of shocks me because I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck.
After church Dave and I ran some errands that had a lot to do with my feet. I picked up a pair of Under Armor running socks to try out (at $8 a pop I was not about to gamble on more than one pair) and I got some blister Band-Aids. I refuse to suffer from anymore debilitating blisters!!
You know what? Ever since I was little, I have hated feet. I think they are so disgusting. And really, I have always had relatively nice feet. But since I started running long distances and barefoot over the past few years…well, my feet are the most hideous things on the face of the earth. You would think that the time I devote to talking about my feet on the world wide web and staring at them and caring for them I would actually like them.
Not at all.
I hate them. They make me want to puke. I only have four toenails on each foot and one of those stopped growing in September. Now they are are calloused and blistered. Oh and don’t get me started on my bunions.
Why do I bring so much attention to them? I guess it’s part of being a runner.
And I’m really sorry for describing all of that for you. Just be glad I didn’t post a picture.
Oh and my mileage goals? Way off. Let’s try it again this week…
Do you hate or love feet?
Do you respond well to losing an hour?
I usually am not affected by the time change, but this seems to be the first year that I’m struggling with it. I just want to sleep! Dave didn’t get home until late last night because he was bowling for a charity with people from work, and of course I’m one of those neurotic wives who has to stay up until her husband returns home safely. We didn’t go to bed until ridiculously late (for us), then we lost an hour and woke up early (ish) for church.
Gahhhhhhhh!
