Mish Mosh
March 22nd, 2011
Lately I’ve been enjoying what I call “Mish Mosh” dinners.
I throw a bunch of stuff in a bowl.
“Let there be dinner!”
And it was good.
Tonight’s dinner was a veggie burger, jasmine rice and green beans, topped with soy sauce
Veggie burgers are a usual suspect in these dinners…and ketchup usually makes an appearance too.
It’s quick and easy and clean up is a cinch. Oh, and delicious.
And speaking of delicious.. my long run this past weekend really did a number on my big toenail on my left foot. It has been throbbing almost constantly since Saturday afternoon. I think I solved that this evening by performing minor surgery on it…by myself.
I tend to grow layers of toenails when I’m training, and I just had to relieve the pressure on the bottom layer. Isn’t that a lovely mental image?
To be honest, I can’t even imagine running on it right now, though. Which stinks. But this is a good week to have a bum toe because I honestly have NO time to run! Ok, well, I can run Thursday and Friday if the weather cooperates, and I hate running Friday because I usually have a long run the next morning.
Consider this week a mish mosh of cross training cardio: bike trainer and Jillian Michaels.
So basically it’s a step back week, in the loosest definition of the term.
Or, just to clarify, we’ll call it a “I have no time and my toe is about to fall off” training week. I should start an over/under challenge for my mileage this week.
So far, I’m at 0. And it really is killing me.
What’s your guess?
Do you have any mish mosh dinners that you make for a quick meal?
Ever perform minor surgery on yourself?
This isn’t the first time I’ve done it…and it always seems to be on my toes.
