Happy face! Sad face!

Today was a day of mixed emotions.

I woke up grumpy, but that’s nothing new. I’ve learned to expect that and so has Dave.

Scratch that. About a half hour after I woke up I had to ask Dave to stop talking to me. You would think he would have learned by now.

Not so much.

Anyhow, this afternoon I ended up book my flight out to California for my twin cousin’s wedding! She’s getting married on Catalina Island…to say that I’m excited would be an understatement!

However, my excitement was dampened by my run…which was cut short because of SHIN SPLINTS?

WHAT?!

I don’t have shin splints!!! Why are you bothering me? Go away!

I then forced Dave to take me out for Mexican (are fajitas anyone else’s coping mechanism?), and now I’m icing my shin with some frozen vegetables. I’d take a picture, but that means I’d have to get up to get the camera, and this fajita food baby isn’t going to allow that.

Oh, and one of my 20 milers is this weekend.

This will be F.U.N. (That was sarcasm.)

But hey, I’m going to CALIFORNIA!!!

Do you have shin splints? What do you do for them?

Have you ever been to Catalina Island?

oh bummer. I’m sorry girl. Slap some guacamole on those shins! I heard that cures everything.
    ;)

  2. How weird! I literally just booked flights to California too. I’ve never been to the west coast, so it should be exciting.

Hopefully your Tuesday will be better than your Monday! :)

Any chance you are going to make it up near the bay area? If so… let me know!

I’ve been to Catalina once. There are numerous hiking opportunities on the island, in addition to lots of touristy attractions. It’s a cute & scenic little town to explore, but things can be kinda pricey since 1)it is CA 2)this is an island and 3)tourism is a (the?) major industry. But if you bring your pennies, your camera, and your hiking shoes (in addition to your wedding finery :) , you’ll have a good time.

  5. oh, you’re going to love catalina island! i’ve been there once and loved the hiking, along with all the kayaking you can do to tiny beaches around the island!
