Things I’m Loving: Quotes

Written by abbynormally
April 1st, 2011

You know what day it is! If you don’t, go ask Rebecca Black.

Oh, and it’s APRIL! Which is the best month ever. Just ‘cuz. My birthday has nothing to do with it. Baseball season might, though. And NHL playoffs. :D

There’s a theme to today’s “Things I’m loving”. I’m going to share some quotes that I either read for the first time this week, or was reminded of at some point.

I hope they speak to you like the speak to me.

  1. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson: "My religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me. That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave."
  2. Dr. Albert Mohler, We Have Seen All This Before: “We dare not retreat from all that the Bible says about hell. We must never confuse the Gospel, nor offer suggestions that there may be any way of salvation outside of conscious faith in Jesus Christ. We must never believe that we can do a public relations job on the Gospel or on the character of God.”
  3. C.S. Lewis, Out of the Silent Planet: "And I say also this. I do not think the forest would be so bright, nor the water so warm, nor love so sweet, if there were no danger in the lakes."

What meaningful quotes have you discovered this week?

See you tomorrow after my 20 miler! (Lord willing)
