I’m a Believer!
April 10th, 2011
The temperature basically doubled since the last time I ran a long run.
80 freakin’ degrees.
I hate running in the heat—especially when I’m not accustomed to it. Kudos to Ashley for putting up with my complaints. And then feeding me icy fruit and yogurt bars.
Goods news is that my compression sleeves came and I didn’t have shin pain! Well, they were a little sore, but no sharp pains like usual. I’m a believer! This week I’m back on the marathon training bandwagon. Crossing my fingers that the combination of low mileage and my new compression sleeves will make for a painless five weeks. FIVE weeks. Whoa.
I think they look ridiculous, but whatever—at least I’m no longer in pain.
Ashley and I are talking about running a fall marathon, but it’s going to be really hard for me to train in the summer. I’m a fair weather runner, I guess. But I define “fair weather” to include snow storms and sub-zero temps.
Yea. I can run in –2F, but not 80F. Sue me.
Regardless, we’re deciding this week if we run it…and if we do, Ashley’s going to HAVE to make me into a summer runner.
Good luck, my friend. I’m a stubborn little person.
I’m outta here…gonna chill out…got another busy week of traveling starting tomorrow. The light at the end of the tunnel is that it’s my last week of travel and my mom is coming out on Friday for my birthday! Yay!
