Brought To You By
April 18th, 2011
I was watching SportsCenter (as always) and every now and then they’ll take a break and some person will come one and say… “this presentation is brought to you by {insert company name}.”
Every time I hear that I have to laugh because it reminds me of my little brother when he was really young (like 4 or 5 years old). Every since he was that age he was into making movies and each of his movies had to have a “brought to you by.”
The funniest part of this was that “brought to you by” was one word in his vocabulary. Right before he would start “filming” (acting out a movie in the backyard), he would look at us and ask, “What is the broughttoyouby?” And we would choose some local company like, “Hoss’s Steak and Sea House.” And he would turn and mumble, “The following movie is broughttoyouby Hoss’s! Starring Harrison Ford, Jack Lord and Cary Grant.”
Imagine the local buffet hosting that cast of characters. What a crew.
It’s no wonder he’s a film major now. Although I doubt one of his future films will star such cinematic heavy weights.
I really have no idea why I’m talking about this. Dave thinks I’ve run out of things to blog about, but the truth is that I never have anything to blog about, I just sit down and start to write about what’s on my mind.
Regardless, I think I’m going to staring having a broughttoyouby on my blog. Just like Jonathan’s films. Only my broughttoyouby’s will have no meaning at all. Yes, even less than Jonathan’s had.
This post is broughttoyouby Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and Max Talbot.
Ok, there’s meaning here. I had mac and cheese for dinner and Talbot just scored a sick goal. I wonder if Kraft and Talbot will pay me for advertising? That would be wicked.
Did you make movies when you were little? Who were your favorite actors and actresses growing up?
Like Jonathan, I loved Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart and others who were on TV Land. I have an old soul.
I never made movies. Adam and I would play sports. J-man played actors in his movies. Cutest little kid. EVER. Too bad I didn’t realize it until about 5 minutes ago.
