Guess what I am doing right now?
My left shin has been really bothering me. I’ve been lax about icing, so I think I’ve learned my lesson—I just hope it’s not too late!
I am also going to take tomorrow and possibly (probably) Thursday off of running. Friday Ashley and I are planning a short easy run and Friday I’ve got a long run, so I’m going to be spending the next two days on the bike trainer.
We all know how I feel about that. Bleh.
But the truth is that I’m really feeling the miles. I’m tired and sore. Not terribly—nothing that’s really affecting my every day life—but boy! I can’t wait for this marathon to be over. Thankfully, I’m officially tapering, so I don’t feel guilty!
This morning I even entertained myself with a rant on Twitter about how I need to find a low impact activity for the summer. I think it’s going to be cycling. Dave said he might have the patience to ride with me once a week. Isn’t he nice?
I just think my body needs the break, and I’m happy to give it to it. I know that I’ve got many miles left in these legs, but a little break is necessary.
