Dex and I had another muddy and sweaty run this afternoon. My pal Shannon joined us. My hip has really been bothering, but I have been trying to run in my Brooks Green Silence since the marathon. Today I put my Brooks Defyance back on to see if they would alleviate the pain at all…
THEY DID! It was a little stiff at first, but it loosened up. It felt so good that once I got home and let Dex eat, I went out and ran another 2 miles. Ahhhhh, feels so good to be running again! I would estimate that I ran somewhere between 4-5 miles today.
The best part of not training is running “naked”—without a Garmin or watch. I just love to run and sometimes all the numbers and stats suck the fun out of it. I’m taking this training-free window to fall back in love with running. Trails and running with my dog (and without my Garmin) is the perfect way to rekindle the romance. Once my hip is feeling better, I’m whipping out the FiveFingers!
