Because I’m a Grump
January 19th, 2012
I know I haven’t really been around lately. I finally read The Hunger Games, which really explains only some of my absence. The other excuse that I can give is that I have been in such a crabby mood all week and I don’t want to talk to anyone and I’m sure no one wants to talk to me. But you know what? Everyone has crappy weeks so let’s commiserate, shall we? Just this once (ha!). Here’s a list of the gripes I have against life this week:
- The lack of planning on your part does not, and should never, become my emergency.
- Poor use of grammar and a general lack of writing and speaking skills. Either you slept through grade school or the education system sucks. It’s probably the latter, but I’ll still blame you. Read a book!
- How judgmental I sound in the previous point.
- Shin splints
- The lack of self-awareness in difficult people.
- The lock feature on spray bottles like Windex and other cleaners.
- Celiac disease and my digestive system.
- My fear of flying.
- Stinky bathrooms
- Internet Explorer
- People who talk to me while I’m reading. If I could peel my eyes from the text, I’d probably beat you for interrupting me.
I may have listened to this song on repeat at work.
But now that I have vented it all, I will walk away from it all. Movin’ on.
What is making you ragey this week? Vent it here and then move on.

Vent away!
Your first grump is probably my mom’s biggest pet peeve at her job. Granted she is the consummate organizer, so she is probably a little more sensitive to that. I’ve always been peeved when others’ lack of organization has affected me negatively as well. Yes on Facebook, grammar, and Internet Explorer. I pretty much think Google Chrome is the best thing ever.
Well now that you have read the Hunger Games I feel like I should since we talked about it over lunch. Good?
I am never on Facebook so no idea on that one. People interrupting me while I’m reading tend to get ignored (unless it’s a certain cute poodle or hottie husband). I liked the hunger games and am starting book 2.
I have 2 gripes:
1- if I tell you I just need to vent about a mutual friend you don’t then call them about what I’m venting about.
2- drunks. ESP those who argue with me on the train
Poor use of grammar is the worst! I am always silently judging people’s grammar, ha. Also heavy breathers and noisy eaters. Just. Can’t. Handle. It.
I’m way behind on the Hunger Games trend – I’m thinking I might need to download it to my Kindle!
Did you like The Hunger Games? I ask because I finished the first book the weekend before last and the second book last weekend, this weekend I hope to finish Mockinjay.
Oh, and I agree with most of your “vents” for this week, so I completely get it. Usually my drive home at night is spent venting to my mother on the phone, while sitting in Pittsburgh traffic, which deserves it’s own rant. Hope you have an awesome weekend!
