To-Do List

Any of you who have been around here for awhile know that I’m pretty laid back. I am not a goal oriented person. If I make a to-do list, I lose it. If I create a plan, I get bored with it and give up. It’s just how I am. And I like that about myself. It’s a perfect complement to my husband’s enginerd personality. We work well together.

ANYHOW. Seeing that there’s a HUGE life change on the horizon, I have been thinking about things I’d like to do before Baby J makes his/her appearance.

Now, I want to all warn you that this is not a deep, meaningful, soul searching kind of list. It’s a fun, gotta-do-it-now kind of list. Actually, besides grocery lists, fun lists are all I’m willing to hold myself too.

-Get married
-Buy a house
-Run a marathon
-Go to Europe
-Replace bedroom ceilings <–in process!
-Pay off a school loan (plenty to choose from!)
-Start photographing for realz
-Re-read the Harry Potter series (for the gazillionth time)
-Read more of the Classics (I’ve got a list)
-Vacation with family <–beach in August
-Spend quality time with the brothers
-Learn to sew <– bought a machine, need someone to tell me what to do.
-Go camping <–And hopefully again with my mom in the fall!
-Do tourist-y things around Pittsburgh that I haven’t done yet
-Start writing down family memoirs

This last point may need some explaining. Now, I know I’m partial, but I have an awesome family. We’re a little nutty and a lot of fun. I want to start writing down some of our finer moments so that 1) I don’t forget them and 2) we have something to pass down to other generations. I don’t have intention of publishing said writing, but I would like to get them down before they are lost and forgotten altogether. And my family has been great about emailing and texting me funnier family memories as they think of them. I may put them here on the blog just so I know where to find them in the future. They may bore you, but you may enjoy them. We’ll see. Don’t feel obligated to stick around if you hate it.

I’ll still be posting other things, though.. if time (and my to-do list) allows.

What’s on your list?

P.S. “Shadow of the Night” comes out on Tuesday. Anyone else a fan of Deborah Harkness and “A Discovery of Witches?” I am so excited! I might host a reading party!
