just came across your post and I actually did the same thing with the stress fracture to marathon training. i was cleared to run in May of 09 and ran my first marathon (Chicago) in Oct. It wasn’t so bad, really! I did a lot of cross training (mostly cycling) and that helped ease the stress on my foot! Good Luck!
